About the Author
Eric Conrad (CISSP, GIAC GSE, GPEN, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, GAWN, GSEC, Security+), is a SANS-certified instructor and President of Backshore Communications, which provides information warfare, penetration testing, incident handling, and intrusion detection consulting services. Eric started his professional career in 1991 as a UNIX systems administrator for a small oceanographic communications company. He gained information security experience in a variety of industries, including research, education, power, Internet, and healthcare, in positions ranging from systems programmer to security engineer to HIPAA security officer and ISSO. He has taught more than a thousand students in courses such as SANS Management 414: CISSP, Security 560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking, Security 504: Hacker Techniques, and Exploits and Incident Handling. Eric graduated from the SANS Technology Institute with a Master of Science degree in Information Security Engineering.

Seth Misenar (CISSP, GPEN, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, GWAPT, GCWN, GSEC, MCSE, MCDBA), is a certified instructor with the SANS Institute and serves as lead consultant for Context Security, which is based in Jackson, Mississippi. His background includes security research, network and Web application penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, regulatory compliance, security architecture design, and general security consulting. Seth previously served as a physical and network security consultant for Fortune 100 companies and as the HIPAA and information security officer for a state government agency. He teaches a variety of courses for the SANS Institute, including Security Essentials, Web Application Penetration Testing, Hacker Techniques, and the CISSP course.
Seth is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Information Security Engineering from the SANS Technology Institute and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Millsaps College, Jackson, Mississippi.

Joshua Feldman (CISSP), is currently employed by SAIC, Inc. He has been involved in the Department of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Information Assurance Education, Training, and Awareness program since 2002, where he has contributed to a variety of DoD-wide Information Assurance and Cyber Security policies, specifically the 8500.2 and 8570 series. Joshua has taught more than a thousand DoD students through his "DoD IA Boot Camp" course. He is a subject matter expert for the Web-based DoD Information Assurance Awareness-yearly training of every DoD user is required as part of his or her security awareness curriculum. Also, he is a regular presenter and panel member at the annual Information Assurance Symposium hosted jointly by DISA and NSA. Before joining the support team at DoD/DISA, Joshua spent time as an IT security engineer at the Department of State's Bureau of Diplomatic Security. He got his start in the IT security field with NFR Security Software, a company that manufactures Intrusion Detection Systems. There, he worked as both a trainer and an engineer, implementing IDS technologies and instructing customers how in properly configuring them.

Antonietta Morena Gatti is a physicist and bioengineer and the founder and director of the Laboratory of Biomaterials of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy). The book starts off talking about machine learning before getting into data analysis which all is a bit too much for a beginner's guide. I have taken other programming courses in the past and none of them jump right into the deep end of the pool like this book. The fact that the book references images that aren't in the book is just crazy. How does a book (I have paperback) get published like this? And it says to load a CSV file into python yet doesn't say where to get the file from or how to load it into python. Again this book says it's a beginner's guide so where is the explanation on how to do these things? I realize I can Google how to do all these things but then what is the point of this book? Waste of money or maybe a good fire if I get too cold.

Although there are some potentially useful concepts in this book, it is in places impossible to understand because the author apparently has little understanding of grammar and syntax, and invents words (what does "performant" mean, for example). By writing in a stream-of-consciousness, barely-literate fashion, the author shows outright disrespect for the reader and, worst, demonstrates that he or she simply doesn't care. Sometimes I have to map out sentences, try to deconstruct the gibberish, and then guess as to what the author was trying to say. After wading through three sections of this book, I came to suspect that the author has no concept of programming in general, or Python in particular, and is obfuscating a lack of technical knowledge with completely-nonsensical writing. I had to abandon reading this. It was a waste of my time.

When it deals with a subject, it not only tells you how things work but also why they work that way. It helped me gain a deeper understanding of the language. It also helped me think about how to structure my code. The examples and case studies are very broad in terms of practical coverage and they themselves are good learning materials as well. This is a real book well worth the money, unlike some other books out there which in some cases are simply copy and paste from different sources.

The grammar in this book is atrocious. Sometimes sentences make no sense at all and I was left scratching my head trying to piece it together. I am positive large parts of the book were just copy and paste from a website trying to sell products.

The examples and case studies are very broad in terms of practical coverage and they themselves are good learning materials as well. This is a real book well worth the money, unlike some other books out there which in some cases are simply copy and paste from different sources. It is written simply enough for him to understand, but still covers the important things. Glad I bought it.

Entre 1969 y 1972 trabajó en el Palacio San Martín. En 1979 se fue a vivir a Washington, desempeñándose en el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y en la Organización de Estados Americanos. Volvió en 1982 e integró la redacción de la agencia Noticias Argentinas (NA), hasta que en octubre de 1984 ingresó a Ámbito Financiero, donde llegó a ser jefe de la sección Política. En julio de 1989, el presidente Carlos Saúl Menem lo designó al frente de la Secretaría de Inteligencia del Estado (SIDE). En junio de 1990 presentó cartas credenciales ante el presidente de Panamá y en 1992 hizo lo propio ante el presidente Mario Soares de Portugal. En junio de 1993 volvió al país y fue designado asesor presidencial con rango de Secretario de Estado. En febrero de 1998 renunció y poco después volvió a incorporarse a diferentes programas radiales y televisivos. En 2002 publicó Misión Argentina en Chile, 1970- 1973 (Sudamericana, Chile) y en 2006 apareció la primera versión de Nadie fue (cuya edición definitiva publicó luego Sudamericana), a los que siguieron los best-sellers Fuimos todos (2007), Volver a matar (2009), El escarmiento (2010), 1982 (2011) y La trama de Madrid (2013).
